Tattoo FAQ

It's your first tattoo?

What an exciting and fun experience! Let me go over a few things that will be vital for your tattooing process

How bad does it suck?

Tattoos can be very uncomfortable in some areas and in others, nearly painless. It really varied from person to person. Placement on the body does have play a role - around the joints (shoulder , wrist, elbow, knee etc.) can be very hardcore. Other areas that areas can also be more uncomfortable (inner bicep, thigh, belly, anywhere over vital internal organs.). Most people you ask will have different opinions on which was their most painful.

How do I lower the ouch barrier?

Discomfort and pain from tattooing can be eased somewhat by doing a few things in advance. Trust me, it makes a difference!

1- Rest well the night before. Get a full 8 hours of uninterrupted zzz's.

2- Eat a meal before. This deters blood sugar dropping. I also have snacks and water on site!

3- Do not take ibuprofen it is a blood thinner take Tylenol if absolutely necessary.

4- Numbing cream! Follow the guidelines for the specific numbing cream that is purchased for your tattoo.

Permanent Lip Makeup

FAQ

What is microblading?  Microblading is a semipermanent cosmetic tattooing procedure intended to enhance the appearance of the eyebrows. Pigment is etched into the skin using a hand tool with a row of tiny needles that resemble a blade.

Semipermanent? What does that mean?  The results will last 12 to 18 months, depending on one's individual skin type and how well the brows are cared for.

Ok, cool! Does it hurt?  The pain should be minimal as you will be numbed prior to and throughout the procedure, which typically lasts a few hours. It is normal to experience minor swelling for a couple days after your first appointment.

First appointment? How many are there?  Microblading typically takes two appointments, as the initial color will seem very bold and dark, but as it heals the color will fade about 50%. This is a phenomenon we call "ghosting," and a touch appointment will be necessary in the following months to evaluate healing and maintain the vibrant appearance of your brows.

Anything else I should know?  This type of brow is not the best suggestion for oily skin. We cannot do it if you take blood thinners or steroids. See our microblading aftercare for more complete information.

Microblading sounds hard! There's got to be a better way!?   Well now there is! My nano brows procedure has the same effect as microblading, but it is done with a machine with a smaller needle. This lasts longer than microblading and allows for more precision (and less bleeding!). Nano brows also suit oily skin a bit better than microblading

Sweet! So, it's totally painless?   Although it causes less damage to the skin due to the fact that you aren’t making small cuts on the skin surface, you may still experience mild pain and swelling. We still administer anesthetic for this procedure, and the same aftercare applies. Here's the good news, though: the results should last from one to three years with proper care. A touch up is still required.

I heard a rich attractive celebrity say they like powder brows better. What are those?  Powder brows, or "ombre brows", is a semipermanent makeup technique created by using a machine that lays pixels of color down over the brows. The artist adds shading from the tail to the front of the brow, giving it a powdery appearance that mimics daily applied makeup. The gently dusted powder look is full and striking, yet soft.

Which technique is better?  This answer may vary depending on your brow and skin type. Microblading is great if you have sparse or no brows to begin with, but if you have oily skin, powder brows will save you multiple retouches and may last longer. It also adds a beautiful accent to brows that are already fairly full while sparing you the struggle of daily makeup application.

Wow. They both sound great, I can't decide. Tell me what to do!  Microshading might be the choice for you. Also known as hybrid brows. microshading is a combination of microblading (or nano brows) and powder brows, this technique fills in the brows while simultaneously adding the impression that you're wearing a small amount of eyebrow makeup. In addition to versatility with most skin and brow types, it should last 1 to 3 years with proper aftercare and a well-timed touch up.

Well, since I'm already here for the brows, what else can you do to my face?  I am certified to do Lip Blushing and Permanent Eyeliner. Lip blushing is a form of semipermanent makeup. Essentially, it is a cosmetic tattoo on the lips that enhances the beauty of the natural lip color and improves the shape of the lips by adding definition, providing the illusion of fullness. Permanent eyeliner is a treatment that replaces the need to wear eyeliner each day by using a tattooing technique to apply ink along the lash line, creating the appearance of eyeliner. It lasts for 18 months.
